A walk for the greater good



Bakwena Walk for Charity is a voluntary event organised by members of the Bakwena ba Mogopa nation, located in Bethanie, near Brits. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and to support in non-monetary contributions to alleviate the hardships experienced by orphanages based in the community. The key focus areas include food, shelter, healthcare and education at orphanages.

The Bakwena Walk for Charity is Regional event held during the festive season, here participants will walk around Bethanie village for an estimated distance of 24 km.
We also host a 6km walk, 40km cycling, soccer and netball tournament The first event was held on the 24th December 2011, and it is currently the only
event of its nature.
