The Bakwena Walk for Charity is a regional event held during the festive season, here participants walk around Bethanie village for an estimated distance of 5km – 20km.
Bakwena Walk for Charity is a voluntary event organised by members of the Bakwena ba Mogopa nation, located in Bethanie, near Rustenburg. The Walk for Charity is to be held on the 22 December 2012, where participants will walk around Bethanie village for an estimated distance of 5km – 20km. The first event was held on the 24th December 2011, and it is currently the only event of its nature. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and to support in non-monetary contributions to alleviate the the hardships experienced by orphanages based in the community. The key focus areas include food, shelter, healthcare and education at orphanages.
This year’s event will be held on the 22nd December 2012, and it is currently the only event of its nature.
